Wedding at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Austin

Our Lady of Guadalupe Church Austin – Beautiful Catholic Wedding

There’s something about a classic, formal wedding inside of a church that gets me every time. It just feels so pure and cinematic. I love the pews, the pulpit, the architecture, and – if I’m lucky – the stained glass windows. Ashley and Alec’s wedding took place at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Austin.

These two met high school during a band trip. Ashley was a freshman and Alex was a Junior. The moment they met, they have been inseparable. 9  years and 2 beautiful children later, here we are looking at their wedding photographs! Isn’t that the sweetest story?

About their wedding day, Ashley said, “My favorite moment of the wedding was after the ceremony. It was so nerve-wracking to walk down the aisle and have all eyes on me. I was nervous about tripping on my dress in front of everyone! I had to remind myself that I would be fine since I have 24 years of walking experience! Ha! I’ve never been the type of person who enjoyed the spotlight so once the “I Do’s” were said, I was ready to party! It was so exciting to walk in the reception ballroom together as Mr. & Mrs. I loved it!.” How about that?

Ashley dress was absolutely stunning! She looked radiant in her dress. Ashley had this to say about her dress: “My mother and I went to David’s Bridal to look at the dress. We weren’t expecting to find my dress so quickly, but I found my dress after just the third try! It was a long white sweetheart dress with a broach around the hip area. It had beautiful beading around the bust and the train was on the side of the dress. I fell in love with my dress the instant I tried it on and from the way my mother teared up, I knew that she liked the dress too.”

As you all know, there are bound to be a glitch or two during a wedding. As much as you plan and discuss, something will go wrong. Ashley definitely agrees with me. She said, “Anything that could have gone wrong, did go wrong. It was okay because, at the end of the day, all I wanted to do was marry the man who has been with me and loved me through my awkward teenage years.”

If there was one thing Ashley could change about her wedding, she would change this: “We didn’t want to see each other until the ceremony, but we ran into each other as I was going down the stairs of the hotel to take pictures. Oops! If I could change ONE thing about the wedding, it would be that very moment!”.  I’m sure the look on both of their faces was one of pure surprise and shock!

A bit of advice from Ashley: ” Tell everyone to arrive extra early! Bring extra bobby pins, cover-up, and listen to some awesome music to help everyone get into a good mood!”

You guys are going to rock this whole being married thing. Thanks for sharing your day with me!
